Two Suspected Armed Robbers Shot Dead in Ebonyi State

robbers robersPolice in Ebonyi State have shot dead two suspected armed robbers operating alongside four others at Akaeze-Edda Bridge along Afikpo-Okigwe Highway.

Briefing newsmen in Abakaliki, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. George Okafor explained that the two suspects were killed as the gang engaged the operatives of the Command in a gun battle.

According to Mr. Okafor, the remaining suspects escaped through Aninri-Awgu axis of Enugu State with bullet wounds while on AK47 rifle, five magazines and twenty rounds of live ammunition were recovered from them.

Mr. Okafor stated that a combined team of special Anti-Robbery ad Anti-Kidnapping Squad had initiated a manhunt of the gang and urged members of the public to contact the police if they see any person with bullet wound.
