PROMOTE NATIONAL UNITY: GOV. UMAHI TELLS YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has called on National Youth Service Corps Members to use their service year to assist the Federal Government in curbing separatist agitations in the country.
Chief Umahi made the call at the swearing in ceremony of “2017 Batch A stream 2” Corps members at NYSC permanent Orientation Camp, Old Macgregor College Afikpo.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Charles Akpuenika, the Governor urged the corps members to engage in activities aimed at promoting the peace and unity of the country.
The State Coordinator, NYSC, Mrs. Regina Iluebbey explained that 1,870 (one thousand eight hundred and seventy) Corps members were posted to the state and urged them to use the three weeks course to deepen their knowledge about the unity of the country.
The State Chief Judge, Justice Alloy Nwankwo represented by Justice Benson Ogbu administered oath of allegiance to the Corps members.
