POLICE OBEY ABIA LAWMAKERS ON DISMANTLING OF ROAD BLOCKS

abia logoThe Abia State Police Command says the patrol teams of the Command have been detailed to ensure the dismantling of road blocks across the State.

This is in line with the resolution of the State House of Assembly directing that all road blocks mounted with the aim of revenue collection be dismantled. The Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, made this known in a telephone interview with Radio Nigeria.

According to the PPRO, the Command has already warned the National Union of Road Transport Workers, who normally engages in the act to desist from such. He said that the full wrath of the law would fall on any one found culpable.

Mr. Ogbonna further noted that before now, the Command had already keyed into the directive by the Inspector-General of Police ordering dismantling of all road blocks within the country and that efforts at curbing such would be sustained by the Command.
