NDLEA CONFISCATES 125KG OF ILLICIT DRUGS IN EBONYI
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA has seized 125 kilogrammes of illicit drugs in the first quarter of the year in Ebonyi State.
The State Commander of the Agency, Mr. Raph Igwenagu stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria at the Command’s Headquarters in Ntezi, Ishielu Local Government Area. Mr. Igwenagu explained that the drugs comprised of Cocaine, Cannabis Sativa and Psychotropic substances and were seized at different parts of the State.
Mr. Igwenagu pointed out that the Agency had over eighty drug related cases pending in court while some convictions had been made. The State Commander attributed the Agency’s exploits to intelligence gathering as well as stop and search operation being carried out by the armed squad of the agency on commercial vehicles plying major highways in the State.
