Piracy-fight-NCC-300x160The Nigerian Copyright Commission has warned those who engaged in piracy in the South-East and South-South zones of the country to desist from it or be prepared to face the wrath of the law. The Director of Enforcement of the Commission, Mr. Augustine Amodu gave the warning while briefing newsmen in Awka, Anambra State on the alarming rate of piracy in the zones.

Mr. Amodu listed the items seized during the raid to include, decoders, cable wires and satellite dishes. According to him, the commission’s operatives were attacked at Sapele after the raid by hoodlums suspected to be pirates, before the Police came to their rescue.

Mr. Amodu pointed out that Onitsha, Nnewi, Warri, Sapele and Ughelli were well known for this illegal act.

He vowed that the commission under the watch of the Director-General, Mr. Afam Ezekude would not rest on its oars until piracy was totally eradicated in the country.
