IMO STATE CIVIL SERVANTS GET WORK-FREE DAYS FOR VOTER REGISTERATION

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has urged residents of the area to register and obtain the permanent voter cards to enable them to vote in the forthcoming elections. He gave the charge during a news conference in Owerri.

Governor Okorocha said Wednesday and Thursday next week had been declared work-free days to enable people visit INEC offices in their localities while markets will remain closed till four o’clock in the evenings to also encourage traders to obtain their voters cards. On the issue of the impeachment, the Governor insisted that his deputy Prince Eze Madumere had been duly removed from office and a new person nominated to occupy the position.

Governor Okorocha added that a new deputy governor would be inaugurated as soon as a court injunction hindering it was vacated. He urged the people of the South East to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid to enable the zone to benefit more from the federal government.
