FRSC IN ANAMBRA TO ENSURE SANITY ON THE ROADS DURING THE EASTER CELEBRATION

anambra3About one thousand, five hundred personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps have been redeployed to ensure free flow of traffic during the Easter celebration in Anambra State. The Sector Commander of the Corps in the State, Mr. Sunday Ajayi made this known while briefing newsmen in Awka.

Mr.  Ajayi, said the command had put necessary measures in place to ensure that all the roads in the state were free of gridlock during the celebration.

According to him, the officers and men of the corps will be working with the officials of the State Traffic Management Agency as well as other sister security agencies to ensure safety and sanity on the roads. He explained that major areas of congestion in the state had been identified and necessary strategies adopted to ensure sanity.

The Sector Commander warned motorists against overloading, over speeding, answering call while driving and violation of other traffic rules to avoid being  arrested and prosecuted. Corps Commander Ajayi who advised passengers to resist any attempt to be overloaded by any motorists, appealed to all road users to call the corps when in emergency situations.

As the raining season sets in, Corps Commander Ajayi was of the opinion that motorists should be conscious of the conditions of their vehicles in terms of their brake system, lightening system, tyres ,wipers, among others to ensure safety on the roads.  He promised that the Command would do everything within its powers to ensure that there would be no accident in the state during the Easter celebration.
