COMMISSIONER FOR HEALTH ENUGU STATE STORMS ESUT TEACHING HOSPITAL.

rd1 Yesterday at exactly 7:30am, the new commissioner for health Enugu state, Dr Fintan Ekochin accompanied by some members of his ministry made an unscheduled visit to the ESUT teaching hospital, Parklane Enugu.
The mission was to sensitise staff on the need for punctuality and dedication to work as well as to find out some of the challenges they face. He expressed disappointment with some units which were under lock and key at a time they were supposed to be operational.
He however encouraged those who were found at their duty posts to continue the good. Units visited include the Emergency ward, the children’s ward, the pathology unit, the GOPD among other.
Some of the discoveries made were the need for expansion of some wards, the dumpsters left unattended to by the ESWAMA and trd2he lack of medical kits in some units.
During the visit the commissioner interacted with some patients and assured them of Government’s resolve to better services at the hospital.
The Commissioner also visited the Chief Medical Director of the hospital Dr Gabriel Njeze.
