ABA TO GET AUTOMATED SHOE FACTORY – GOVERNOR IKPEAZU

ikpeazu-abia-e1449435446502-330x242Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards ensuring adequate security to its citizens.  Governor Ikpeazu made this known while briefing newsmen on the activities of his administration in the last one month at Government House Umuahia.

The Governor said that over two hundred security personnel, made up of the police and army, would be drafted to tackle crime in the area.  He maintained that the state government had mapped out one million naira for anybody who would provide useful information that could lead to nipping crime in the bud. On his recent foreign trips to China and Turkey, the Governor noted that plans were under way to establish an automated shoe factory in the state through the assistance of a Chinese firm.

According to the arrangement, seventy percent of the shoes produced will be for export. The Governor emphasized that the equipment for the industry would soon arrive in the state, noting that the aim of the visit was to ensure that the products to be produce in the factory were made in Aba.
