EKWEREMADU LAUDS BUHARI FOR SIGNING BILLS INTO LAW

The Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, says signing of constitution Alteration Acts by President Muhammadu Buhari shows that Nigeria Democracy is coming of age.

Reacting to the recent signing of the acts, by the President, Chief Ekweremadu believes that setting a timetable for re-election litigations has led to rest the challenges associated with protracted tussles in the nation’s democracy.

On the granting of financial autonomy to the state Houses of Assembly and State judiciaries, Senator Ekweremadu said it was intended to ensure that both arms of the government discharged their duties without fear or favour.

He commended President Buhari and members of the National and State Houses of Assembly for acting in the national interest.

Chief Ekweremadu, however, urged the President to also sign the remaining amendments before him.
