Rangers Retain Enugu State FA Cup

Rangers International FC of Enugu has been crowned champions of 2016 Enugu State Federation Cup after thrashing Disdart in Afrik 5-1 in the final match played at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria, Enugu State FA Chairman, Mr. Chidi Ofor-Okenwa said that with the current squad and management of Rangers football club and support from the state government he is optimistic that the team would excel both in FA Cup and the Nigeria Professional Football League. Rangers football club and Disdart in Afrik will represent Enugu State in the National Federation Cup.

In other states FA Cup finals played over the weekend, In Imo State, Papilo FC Pipped Heartland FC 1-0, MFM FC won their first ever Lagos State Federation Cup after they saw off Bridge FC 3-0 at the Agege Stadium. In Kwara state, Kwara United beat ABS FC 5-2 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Prime FC beat Fehinty FC 2-1, while Sunshine Stars retained the Ondo state Federation Cup with a 2-1 victory over Akure City FC.

All the finalists will represent their different states in the 2016 Federation Cup.
