Flying Eagles depart Abuja for Khartoum

The team comprising 18 players and nine Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials departed Abuja on board an Ethiopian Airways flight at about 12.00 noon. Ajayi, who is the teams’ Media Officer, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja that the delegation was being led by Ibrahim Gusau, the Zamfara FA Chairman.
The team will tackle a Sudanese side that has yet to kick a ball in the qualifiers following the withdrawal of their second round opponent, Malawi. NAN also recalls that the match against Sudan had earlier been fixed for Friday, but was shifted to 8 p.m. on Sunday by the Sudanese Football Federation.
