VOTING IN PROGRESS IN IMO

Accreditation and voting are taking place simultaneously in many centres across Imo state.
Although there was late arrival of materials in some of the polling units visited by Radio Nigeria in Owerri Municipal Council and Owerri West local government areas people conducted themselves peacefully.
At Azuzii ward four, Uzii primary school Owerri which has seven voting points, eligible voters came out early in the morning to exercise their franchise.
Materials however arrived at about 9.20 am.
More than three thousand persons are expected to cast their votes at the unit as accreditation and voting are in progress.
Some election observers and party agents in an interview expressed reservations over late commencement of the exercise.
They however expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the election so far.
The state has been peaceful as no case of violence or ballot box snatching has been reported.
