UZODINMA IN, IHEDIOHA OUT: REACTIONS TRAIL SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT

Reaction has continued to trail the Supreme Court judgment that sacked Chief Emeka Ihedioha and declared Senator Hope Uzodimma the winner of the March 9 2019 governorship election in Imo State.

The news came to many residents of Imo State as a shock as many believed that the apex court would uphold the ruling of the tribunal and appeal court, which affirmed Chief Ihedioha of the PDP as winner of the election.

However, the state is calm and peaceful with people going about their businesses.

Though the ruling came very late in the evening people who were seen in clusters in Owerri were discussing the development.

While some were happy that their choice candidate had emerged others said their interest was to have a leader with the fear of God.

There was jubilation in Oru West Local Government, especially Omuma Community, the home town of Senator Uzodinma.

Also, security operatives were seen at strategic positions apparently to maintain law and order.

In the meantime, the Senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Chief Rochas Okorocha has issued a statement congratulating Senator Hope Uzodimma on his victory at the supreme court.

The statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, said the APC in the state would support the new governor to succeed.

Meanwhile, the State Director National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Vitus Ekeocha had called on residents of the area to remain law abiding and continue their legitimate businesses, noting that the decision of the supreme court was final.
