REACTIONS TRAIL POSTPONMENT OF 2019 GENERAL ELECTIONS

Reactions have continued to trail the postponement of the 2019 general election by the Independent!National Electoral Commission.
Some residents of Awka , the Anambra state capital who woke up early this morning to hear the news described it as a bad omen to the Democratic growth of the country.
One of them, Mr Paul okolo who said he traveled to Ognunka to cast his vote, regretted the inconveniences the postponement would have on him.
Another respondent, Mr Izuchukwu Odili said it would be very difficult for him to go back to Abagana with his family next week when the election was rescheduled to hold.
An accredited election observer, prince Chris Azor however described the postponement as a right step that would enable the commission to be fully prepared for the exercise.
According to him, from what the observers had seen, INEC was really not fully prepared for today’s election as logistics including accreditation materials were not sufficiently provided.

Our correspondent who spoke with the respondents in a telephone interview reports that the people however expressed fear that the postponement may affect the turnout of voters during the rescheduled date.
