HOPE RISING: IHEDIOHA TO RESTRUCTURE IMO CIVIL SERVICE

Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has promised to restructure the civil service in the state.

He stated this during an unscheduled facility tour of Imo State Secretariat, Owerri.

Governor Ihedioha, who frowned at the state of dilapidated facilities at the secretariat, urged the workers to help in maintaining some of the facilities and keep their environment clean.

He called on them to be punctual to work, noting that he would restore hope and sanity in the service.

The Governor charged them to increase their revenue generation and assured them that the generating set in the secretariat would be restored for optimal production.

He promised to address the issue of full payment of salary as soon as possible.

Chief Ihedioha also visited Justice Oputa High Court Owerri where he noticed that the complex was not ready for use due to lack of furniture and office equipment.

Responding, the Head of Service Imo State, Mrs. Ama Eluwa, thanked the Governor for his visit and appealed to him, as a matter of urgency, to correct some anomalies in the service.

She said that workers in the state are eager to work but called for an assistance for greater service delivery.

The Governor was accompanied by heads of security agencies and other government functionaries.
