Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state says his administration will not relent in its effort towards returning the state to a greater height. Ikpeazu made this known during an interdenominational church service for re dedication of Abia state at Umuahia township stadium. Addressing a large crown at Umuahia township stadium Governor Ikpeazu said that he decided to rededicate the state to God based on his numerous blessing and works to Abia. He thanked the people for their support to his administration and assured them of more democracy dividend. The Governor who noted that Supreme Court victory was not for his family but for all the people of Abia state called on all to join hands with him in moving the state forward. In a sermon the President Eastern Nigeria Union conference of Seventh Day Adventist Pastor Bassey Udoh stated that through the victory of Governor Ikpeazu at the Supreme court it has indicated that God visited the state and urged the people to see the victory as a divine mandate. Speaking on behalf of other Governor the Governor of Ekiti State Mr Ayodele Fayose said that they were in Abia to join Governor Ikpeazu in celebrating justice. Some residents of the area in an interview expressed joy that the state has being rededicated to God describing it as a step in the right direction. High point of the event was an intercessory prayer for the Nation,State,the Governor,Legislators and the Judiciary by the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji and the CAN chairman Abia state Bishop Goddy Okafor Correspondent Lawrence Nwokedi who was there reports that dignitaries from far and wide among whom were the Governors of Ekiti, Delta, Akwa ibom, Rivers and Gombe states as well as Deputy Governors of Bayelsa and Ebonyi states and the National Chairman PDP Alhaji Modu Sheriff graced the occasion.
