ENUGU ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS 3 COMMISSIONER NOMINEES

The Enugu State House of Assembly has reaffirmed its commitments to focus on positive legislative duties that would propel development and unity in the state.

The Speaker of the House, Chief Edward Ubosi, stated this while confirming three Commissioner Nominees sent to it by the executive arm.

The House received a request for confirmation of the former Commissioner for finance, Mrs. Eucharia Ofor, who resigned to contest for House of Representatives for Igbo Etiti and Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency but lost and Prince Emeka Mamma, who also lost PDP Primary election for Igbo-Eze North and Udenu Federal constituency Seat.

The nominees were confirmed after the screening.

Just after the confirmation, the leader of the House, Chief Ikechukwu Ezugwu presented three bills.

These were the Enugu State Faith Based Organization Schools of Nursing Bill, the Enugu State Faith Based Organization Schools of Midwifery Bill and the Enugu State Faith Based Organisation Schools of Medical Laboratory Technicians Bill.

Chief Ezugwu explained that the whole idea was to make the system better.

The House assured the people that the bill, which were read for the first time would be given accelerated consideration on a later date.

The Speaker, Chief Edward Ubosi commended members of the Assembly for their unity of purpose in making laws for the benefit of the state since the inauguration of the house.

Chief Ubosi maintained that the interest of the state was most paramount and commended some members who, not minding political interests continued to work hard.
