anambra mental health2The Anambra State Assembly says it will work hard to ensure that this year’s appropriation bill is passed on time.

The House has also shifted its resumption to this week to allow for the completion of work in the ongoing furnishing of the offices of their in the Assembly complex.

The Chairman House Committee on information and State Orientation, Mr. Kingsley Iruba made this known while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Awka.

According to Mr. Iruba efforts were on-going to see that all the lawmakers moved into a conducive office apartment on resumption to enable them concentrate and carry-out their legislative functions diligently.

The law maker said some Ministries, Departments and Agencies were yet to submit their draft estimates with which the House Committees would compare the copy submitted by the governor and urged them to do so without further delay.

“The most important issue before the House right now is the issue of budget discussion. We need to deal with it. After we settle with that we can continue to run the House.”

Mr. Iruba noted that once the legislative activities commence next week, priority would be given to the passage of the 2017 budget estimate adding that the law makers had used the Christmas and New Year holiday period to study the provisions of the financial proposal.
