WOMAN DELIVERED OF QUADRUPLETS IN IGBO ETITI

????????????????????????????????????A middle-aged woman,Oluchi Ezugwu from Ohodo,Igbo Etiti local government area of Enugu State,has been delivered of a set of quadruplets.
The quadruplets comprising two males and two females, born at home with the help of a nurse living in the locality, are presently receiving medical attention at the special baby unit, ESUT Teaching hospital,Parklane Enugu.
Consultant Paediatrician, in the unit, Dr Uchenna Ekwochi said the babies were faced with the challenges of premature delivery resulting in low weight ,as well as infection, as they were delivered outside hospital without Medicare.

Dr Ekwochi however promised the hospital will ensure adequate attention to save the babies and called on good spirited individuals to assist the parents in providing the needed resources to care for the children. Igbo Etiti Caretaker Committee Chairman, Malachy Agbo while thanking God for safety of the babies and their mother, promised the council will contribute to the well-being of the children, but called on government, organizations and well-spirited individuals to render assistance to encourage the parents in caring for them.

Also, Education, Gender and Social welfare Supervisor, Igbo Etiti local government, Amuche Nnamani appealed to mothers to access the free maternal and child healthcare delivery system of the state government to avoid health complications.
Father of the quadruplets, Peter Ezugwu and their mother,Oluchi, thanked God for the safe delivery and appealed to government and well-spirited individuals and organizations to come to their aid in providing the children`s needs for survival.
Meanwhile, one of the babies died as a result of fever arising from inadequate care outside hospital.
