We’re taking development back to rural areas, says Ugwuanyi

gburusThe governor made the assertion at a meeting with political and traditional leaders, as well as women and youth groups from Nkanu East Local Government Area, who were at the Banquet Hall, Lion Building, Government House, Enugu, on Thursday, for a thank you visit.

According to the governor, “it is now time to develop the remote areas and re-design the cities for accelerated development,” urging its indigenes in the diaspora and leaders to donate learning aids such as computers to schools in their country homes.

He commended the people of the area for their support, solidarity and goodwill to his administration, urging them to continue to pray for the state and the country at large for the quick revival of the nation’s economy.

Earlier, the delegation’s spokesman, Igwe Abel Nwobodo, said that they were at the Government House to thank the governor for appointing some of their sons and daughters into positions of authority in the state.

Igwe Nwobodo explained that the people of the area had for long yearned for the siting of basic facilities like health care services, roads, electricity, adding that it is gratifying the governor is committed to providing these and more.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government and indigene of the area, Dr. Gabriel Ajah, thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for running an inclusive government and giving him the opportunity to serve.
