TWO PERSONS WHO TESTED POSITIVE TO CORONAVIRUS ESCAPE FROM IMO STATE— PROF IWU

The Imo State Task force on COVID-19 has expressed worry over the manner at which people sneak in and out of the state despite directive by government on border closure.

Chairman on the Task force, Professor Maurice Iwu, made the expression in Owerri during a routine press briefing on the activities of the committee in the state.

He explained that the family that tested positive to corona virus last week sneaked into the state but noted that they had returned to where they came back from.

Professor Iwu cautioned communities against shielding their relatives who returned from outside the state, noting that such actions could jeopardize their lives.

Professor Iwu appealed to spirited Nigerians to remember the most vulnerable individuals in their midst by extending palliatives to them to enable the country to win the war against the pandemic.

Radio Nigeria gathered that a group known as Imo Economic Development Initiative, used the forum to donate one thousand, five hundred pieces of face masks to the committee to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
