THE POLICE COMMAND IN ABIA STATE HAS ARRESTED A SUSPECTED FAKE ARMY OFFICER WHO SPECIALIZED IN CAR THEFT.
The Police Command in Abia state has arrested a suspected fake Army Officer who specialized in car theft.
Parading the suspect in Umuahia, the Commissioner of Police in Abia state, Mr Habila Joshak said the fake solider was arrested by Police after stealing a Toyota Camry 2011model from the owner in Umuahia
CP Joshak said that the suspect was arrested through a tipoff in Onitsha Anambra state where he went and sold the vehicle to one of his uncle for the sum of one point five million naira.
According to the CP the suspect who gave his name as Ahanna Ogueze from Obiaruku in Delta state was arrested in full military regal with the rank of a lieutenant in Army.
He noted that the suspect who claimed to have studied medicine at Madonna University has being operating in three state namely Abia, Imo and Rivers states with a ploy of lodging in a hotel and requesting for a car to drive around only to disappear with the vehicle to unknown destination.
In an interview the suspect Ahanna Ogueze confessed committing the crime and said that he brought the military uniform from Ojo market in Lagos.
The suspect also claimed to have live in Ojo military barrack with his foster father who according to him has retired as a Brigadier in Army.
Items recovered from the suspect include a Toyota Avalon, Linclon Navigator Jeep and Toyota Camry believed to have been stolen from their owners, two Army fake identity cards with the names Thomson Adedeji and Danjuma Aliyu and a military camouflage.
