Oil communities in Anambra State demand compensation, royalty

Anambra-StateCommunities in the four local government areas of Anambra State registered as oil sites by Orient Petroleum Resources Nigeria Plc have demanded for compensation, royalty, employment and scholarship from the company.
The communities’ youths are championing the cause through their legal consultant, Justice Peter A.C. Obidigwe, former Chief Judge of the state and Chinedum and Sons Engineering Company Nigeria Ltd, involved in the registration of communities with oil deposits in the state, Chief Godwin Anachuna- Ajie, a life patron of Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ).
The four councils are Ogbaru, Ayamelum, Anambra East and West.
They urged the Federal Government to prevail on the company to meet their demand.
