Mr Oribhabor made the call at the 2018 National Summit for Poets in Nigeria in collaboration with Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu.
According to him, the Summit was put together to build the capacities of poets and writer as well as encourage young Nigerians to develop interest in poetry.
In a presentation, the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Professor Christian Anieke, represented by a Professor of English and literary Studies, Mr. Michael Ezugu Amadihe, described Poetry as an integral part of human life and an instrument for social change and development.
Professor Anieke promised that the institution would continue to provide the needed environment for its students to excel in literature.
In a paper entitled “Performance Poetry”; the Zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Enugu National Station, Mr Ike Okere, identified proper articulation, diction, expressions and ability to communicate in a unique manner as some of the basic ingredients required for one to excel as a poet.
Mr Okere said radio Nigeria had remained steadfast in promoting poetry and literature in the country.
