SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS COMMEND PRESIDENT BUHARI FOR ACCEPTING TO WITHDRAW THE ARMY FROM STREETS OF ABIA STATE

The South East Governors Forum has commended President Mohammadu Buhari for accepting its plea to deescalate tension in the South East Zone by withdrawing the Army from the streets of Abia State.

The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi gave the commendation while addressing newsmen at Government House Abakaliki.

Chief Umahi explained that President Mohammadu Buhari was not happy over what happened in the State and had been doing everything possible to resolve the matter immediately.

Chief Umahi called on the people of the South East to correct the erroneous impression about hatred pointing out that the issue of marginalization being raised by the Indigenous People of Biafra was not peculiar to South East Zone.

Chief Umahi appealed to the people not to believe all the pictures and comments they see on social media as the Governors had reached an understanding with the Army on smooth conduct of Operation Python Dance Two.

Heads of Security Agencies attended the briefing.
