SOLUDO SOLICITS COOPERATION OF 8TH ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has canvassed for a new productive partnership with the newly sworn-in members of the 8th Assembly in building a liveable and prosperous state.

Governor Soludo, who stated this at the inauguration of the 8th Assembly held at the Legislative Chambers Awka, charged the new legislators irrespective of their political party affiliations to work for the people through quality legislation that would move the state to an enviable height.

The Governor enjoined the lawmakers to fast track development oriented motions that would better the lots of the citizens, stressing that the three arms of government must work in unison to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

In a remark, the new Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr. Somtochukwu Udeze, promised that the Assembly under his watch would ensure a cordial working relationship with the Executive and the Judiciary, without jeopardizing cooperation and mutual respect.

The Speaker applauded Governor Soludo whom he described as “a pragmatic leader whose actions depicts his great passion for the transformation of the state.”

In an interview, the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Benneth Emeka, while felicitating with the 8th Assembly, expressed happiness with the seamless election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker which he noted was unprecedented in the history of the state.

He charged the legislators to enact quality laws that would benefit the citizens.

The ceremony attracted traditional rulers, friends and supporters of the lawmakers and top government functionaries.
