SECURITY AGENCIES TOLD TO FISH OUT KILLERS OF FRCN STAFF

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has charged security agencies to fish out killers of Head of ICT Unit, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Harvest FM Makurdi, Mr. Patrick Kumbul. The Police Public Relations Officer in Benue State, Mrs. Catherine Anene, had confirmed that Mr. Kumbul was killed along with his neighbor, Mr. Wuester  Shongo.

Mrs. Anene said the two men were killed on Amokachi Lane, Low Level, Makurdi, and that the Police had started full investigation into the matter.

A statement issued in Makurdi by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Terver Akase, quotes Governor Ortom as ordering security agents to ensure that the perpetrators of the double homicide were brought to justice. The Governor described as unacceptable, the murder of Mr. Kumbul by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in front of his house in Makurdi. He urged residents of the State capital and neighboring towns to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the killers.

Governor Ortom sympathized with the entire Kumbul family, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and Harvest FM staff in particular over the painful loss and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest. The General Manager of the Radio Station, Mr. Akange Nyagba, told our correspondent that the bodies of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary. Mr. Nyagba further called for full investigation into the matter and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
