RADIO NIGERIA ENUGU IDENTIFY WINNING WAYS

DSCN0802Wednesday 16th January was another day of interaction between the helmsmen of Radio Nigeria South East zone, Ike Okere and staff of the zone held at the ultra modern knowledge centre, Enugu.

In an atmosphere full of expectations and near frenzy, the forum attended by General Managers from the five FM stations located in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Awka, Anambra State, Enugu, Enugu State, Owerri, Imo State and Umuahia, Abia State, was one for stock taking and identification of available opportunities for growth in the broadcast industry.

The current recession in the oil market and its attendant fallout on the sustenance of the zone, formed the thrust of discussion. To address the dwindling internally generated revenue in commercial sales, called for creative ways to attract needed revenue to take of critical needs of the zone.

The discussions along unbiased, dispassionate and frank lines arrived at credible suggestions on ways to surmount the present challenges. Representative of the house union, Comrade Ani, presented a litany of issues for management’s intervention, but agreed that transparency and discipline would reduce friction in its operations.

Mr Okere used the occasion to announce an upgrade of facilities in the FM stations under the supervision of the zone, which will ultimately bring them closer to Nigerians in all parts of the world.

The forum also had in attendance, heads of news, programmes, engineering, corporate development, support services of administration, finance, audit and staff across the various departments.
