POLICE KILL 2 SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, NAB 4 ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN ANAMBRA

The Police Command Anambra State says it has killed two suspected kidnappers while two others escaped.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, who stated this in a statement, explained that the operatives while on routine patrol on usmusiome Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, intercepted a gang of four operating in an unregistered black Lexus SUV.

The statement said the operatives, noticing the suspected movement of the gang, engaged them in a gun duel thereby demobilizing two of the gang members, while two others escaped.

It noted that efforts were already on to arrest other fleeing gang members.

According to the statement the operatives recovered two locally made explosives, one AK-47 rifle, nine live 7.62 ammunition, four AK47 magazines, charms and other incriminating items.

In a related development, the statement, said the Operatives at Azu Ogbunike Oyi Local Government Area arrested another gang of armed robbers/vandals in the act.

It explained that they were arrested while vandalizing a truck suspected to have been stolen.

According to the statement, the suspects are, one Fidelis Nwusulor (51yrs), Amobi Iloegunam (44yrs), Solomon Akpagu (51yrs) and Innocent Chidiebere (28yrs).

The statement noted that the suspects all confessed to the crime and were currently helping the police with information on other syndicate members that dispossessed innocent drivers of their trucks before bringing them to their criminal hideout at Azu Ogbunike.
