Police in Ebonyi State have rescued a twenty year old girl who was abducted and serially raped by suspected criminals at Onunwafor Ezzaagu in Ishielu Local Government Area of the State. The Police Public Relations Officer of the State, Mrs Loveth Oda explained that the girl was abducted alongside her brother and one other young man who were rescued a few days ago by the police.

The twenty year old girl from Aku in Igbo Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State known as Chioma with her elder brother and an associate had gone to sell their goods at Onunwafor  Ezzaagu in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State when they were allegedly abducted.

The abductors who were said to be youths of the community alleged that the traders were money fraudsters and defrauded some members of their community. The girl who was visibly traumatized denied that they were money fraudsters  emphasizing that she was tied on a tree and raped at random by more than five men throughout her days inside the bush.

She alleged that the ring leader of the gang known as CSO who was also the Youth President of the Community masterminded the dehumanizing treatment meted on her and her brother who was also ordered at gun point to commit incest with her. One of the community Leaders, Mr Steven Ugama condemned the youths for holding the traders hostage but claimed that two young men shot dead when police went on rescue operation were innocent citizens.

The Image maker of Police in Ebonyi State, Mrs Oda said the girl was dropped off a road following pressure, arrest and killing of two of the gang members by the Police who also suffered gunshot wounds. The victims had been taken to the Hospital for medical attention while efforts were on to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
