PDP CALLS FOR ADOPTION OF ELECTRONIC VOTING

The National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has called on the Federal Government and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to introduce electronic voting in the nation’s polity to end electoral violence. Prince Secondus made the call at the grand finale of PDP campaign rally for the fourth coming Ebonyi State Local Government Election at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki.

He expressed worry over the level of blood shed during elections in Nigeria and urged the Federal Government to introduce reforms to check such incidences. Prince Secondus said the PDP would also introduce online registration for its members and consider introducing e-voting in its primary elections.

Governor David Umahi called on the people of the state to come out en-mass to vote for the candidates of their choice during the council poll. The Local Government Election in Ebonyi State is slated for September 29, 2020.
