PARTY LEADERS IN ENUGU PLEDGE TO RESPECT CAMPAIGN REGULATIONS

As campaign for Governorship and House of Assembly elections have commenced, some candidates of political parties in Enugu State have promised to abide by the legal provisions on electioneering.

The Governorship candidate of KOWA Party in the state, Mr. Chinedu Aniuche, while pledging to shun provocative utterances and actions, advised others to ensure that their campaigns were based on issues of development and national security.

For the Leader, Enugu State House of Assembly and PDP candidate for Udenu Constituency, Mr. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, the exercise would be very interesting.

He alleged that those who heat up the polity with inflammatory utterances had nothing to offer the people.

The Chairman of Social Democratic party (SDP) and former Chairman, Inter Party Advisory Committee(IPAC) in the State, Mr. John Nwobodo reminded political parties in the state of the peace accord they entered into, promising that their party would avoid acts capable of truncating the electoral process.

The respondents commended the peace and tranquility in the state since lifting of the embargo on campaigns.
