OUR TWO COVID-19 INDEX CASES ARE STABLE — ABIA INFORMATION COMMISSIONER
Abia State Government says the two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the State are currently stable at an isolation center in the state.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. John Kalu, said medical personnel were offering all necessary support and prayed for the patients to survive the ailment.
According to the statement, contact tracing have commenced with the rapid response team moving to bring in those who may have had contact with the two index cases.
It said the result of a suspected patient, Prosper Vincent returned negative and he would promptly be released from isolation.
The statement advised residents of the state not to panic but continue to observe all the guidelines issued by National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, and the state inter-ministerial committee on COVID-19.
It warned people not to open any market to trade and the use of public transport until further notice.
The statement noted that due to the age of the patients, there was possibility of community transmission and advised all those who might have come in contact with the two individuals who hail from Ukwa and Umuahia North areas of the state to come forward for testing.
