OHANEZE, SOUTH EAST LEADERS CANVASS 6 YEAR SINGLE TENURE FOR PRESIDENT

Ohaneze Ndigbo has called for a new constitution, and additional State as well as a single tenure of 6 years for the President of Nigeria.

The position was made known in a presentation by Professor Charles Soludo at “Ndigbo Summit on Restructuring of the Nigerian Federation,” held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka Anambra State.

Professor Soludo opined that there should be 5 Vice Presidents to be produced by five Geo Political zones without the zone that produced the President.

He also called for two Police Forces, one to be controlled by the Federal Government and the other by the Regional Government.

Professor Soludo urged the APC government to begin a journey towards restructuring the country as contained in its manifesto.

The event was well attended by Igbo people across the South East-States and also from Rivers and Delta States.
