OBIANO SPLASHES CASH ON ANAMBRA ACADEMICALS CUP WINNERS

nor Willie Obiano weekend splashed cash rewards to winners of 2015/2016 Anambra State Academicals.
Obiano gave the male and female team winners N500,000 each and the runners-up received N300,000 each.
Community Secondary School Isuaniocha and Girls Secondary School, Ogbunka emerged champions in the male and female categories respectively.
In third place with N150,000 prize money, were Community Secondary School, Nando for boys and Emeka Aghasili Secondary School, Nise for girls.
Impressed by display of special skills, Governor Obiano also announced the prize money of N20,000 each for the Most Valuable Players (MVP), Highest Goal Scorers and Best Goalkeepers in the respective categories while the Best Behaved Teams got N50,000 apiece.
Obiano described the 2015/2016 edition of Anambra State Academicals as being very successful while assuring that his government will intensify its support to the hosting ministries to ensure that next year’s edition will be greater.
The finals of the State Academicals held over the weekend at Rojenny International Stadium, Oba .
Presenting the trophies, Gov Obiano said his administration revived the Academicals with the aim to develop schools sports and groom talents that will fly the colours of the state in future sporting events both at national and international levels.
