NWIFURU TAKES OVER REIGNS OF GOVT IN EBONYI

The Immediate Past Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly who was declared as the winner of the March 18, Gubernatorial Election, Chief Francis Nwifuru, has been sworn in as the 4th Executive Governor of the State.

He was sworn in by the State Chief Judge, Justice Elvis Ngene, at exactly 1:20pm at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki.

He took oath of office alongside his Deputy, Princess Patricia Obila, with both being conferred with State Honours Awards.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Nwifuru assured the people of the state that he was prepared to discharge his responsibilities as a Governor, noting that his administration would not fail Ndi Ebonyi.

Chief Nwifuru expressed appreciations to those who contested election with him for their desire to serve and appealed to those who went to court to challenge the outcome to withdraw their petitions and join him to serve the state.

The immediate Past Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi had while handing over to the new Governor, dissolved the Executive Council and charged the people of the state to support the incoming administration.

There was also a parade mounted by the Nigeria Police to usher in the new administration and demonstrate loyalty to the authorities.
