NSCDC PARADES SIX CRIMINAL SUSPECTS IN IMO

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Imo State Command has assured residents of the state of its commitment to curb criminality in the area.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Raji Ibrahim, gave the assurance while parading six criminal suspects in Owerri.

He said two middle aged men who specialised in car theft were apprehended by men of the command while attempting to steal a saloon car where it was parked at Okigwe Road in Owerri.

Mr. Ibrahim noted that luck ran out of the suspects when they were struggling to kick the vehicle with a master key.

The State Commandant also paraded two persons arrested at Ohaji Egbema axis of the state while conveying a truck laden with over six thousand litres of suspected adulterated diesel concealed in bags.

Mr. Ibrahim said the smugglers used bags containing crayfish to disguise but it took the Eagle-eye men of his command to detect them.

Two other suspects were arrested for smoking and possession of substances believed to be Indian hemp.

The State Commandant noted that the suspects would appear in court as soon as investigations were concluded.

Some of the suspects who spoke with journalists confessed to the crime but pleaded for forgiveness.
