NOA TASKS IMO STUDENTS ON PATRIOTISM, CAUTIONS AGAINST GET-RICH-QUICK SYNDROME

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) says it is intensifying a campaign on the need for youths to imbibe the spirit of patriotism, discipline and self reliance in order to become better members of society.

The Imo State Director of the Agency, Mrs. Maureen Oparaji, made this known during a sensitization of secondary school students at Egbeda Housing Estate Owerri.

She expressed worry about decline in morals among school children, get-rich-quick syndrome among the young people, growing quest to seek better life abroad and called on youths to have faith in the Nigerian project.

Mrs. Oparaji advised parents not to abandon the task of raising their children to become responsible citizens to school teachers alone, noting that all hands must be on deck to save the future of the country.

Some of the students who spoke at the event commended the organizers for their efforts to give them the needed direction and promised to internalize the virtues being inculcated in them.
