Mrs. Ugwuanyi Encourages women of Enugu State towards this years August Meeting
The wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi has described the annual August meeting of women as a period for managing conflicts and ensuring peaceful coexistence amongst them.
Mrs Ugwuanyi stated this during this year’s Enugu State August meeting and empowerment program held in the state.
She however regretted the misrepresentation of the ideals of the period amongst women, which she said was capable of breeding rancor and acrimony in the society.
Mrs Ugwuanyi enjoined women to revive the old ideal upon which the meeting was founded and aspire to be pillars of the society.
She pointed out that her pet project Ugo Touch of life Foundation, U-TOLF had seeked to stand on the ideals of empowering women through skill acquisition to reduce the level of poverty among women, especially at the rural level and called on women to device a way to contribute to the development of the society.
Meanwhile the wife of the deputy senate president, Doctor Mrs Nwanneka Ekweremadu commended the benevolence of Mrs Ugwuanyi and advised women to support the drive of her excellency.
Similarly, President General, Catholic Women Organisation, Enugu Diocese, Mrs Eunice Oguanya, and the wife of Udi Local Government Government Transition Chairman, Mrs Uche Ngwu appreciated the gesture of the wife of the governor for identifying with the activities of the annual meeting and noted that her benevolence since the inauguration of the present administration had brought succour to many families.
