Police in Ebonyi State have rescued a five year old boy kidnapped in Ohaukwu local government area of the State.
The Commissioner of the police in the State in the area Mrs. Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah made this known in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Abakaliki.
She explained that the victim was rescued in his community, Okwo-Ngbo following the arrest of three suspects who came to collect the ransom demanded for his release.
The Police Commissioner explained that the boy was on an errand close to his father’s compound when the incident occurred, pointing out that the abductors threatened to sell him to the collaborators outside the state if the family members failed to pay one-point-five million naira ransom, which they later reduced to one hundred thousand naira.
