The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has called on judicial officers to adhere strictly to the tenets of impartiality of the judiciary and uphold its dignity as the last hope of the common man.

Governor Ugwuanyi made the call while inaugurating a multi million naira Egede-Umuoka Customary Court building established for the upgrade of judiciary activities by a philanthropist and Traditional Ruler of Egede Community, Igwe Policap Oyigbo.

Represented on the occasion by the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice George Nnamani, the Governor commended the traditional ruler and advised the people of the area to ensure maximum use of the facility and avoid undue quest for case transfer which would defeat the aim of having the court in their domain.

The Traditional Ruler of Egede Community, Igwe Policap Oyigbo said he  was motivated by the need to attract more development to the area.

He appealed to the State Government to look at other areas of developmental needs of the community to uplift the living standard of his people.

Earlier in an address, the President General, Egede Town Union, Mr Clement Amuju commended Governor Ugwuanyi for providing enabling environment for development activities and appealed for job opportunities for the teaming youths.

High point of the event was the inaugural court session in the new facility to mark the commencement of judicial activities in the court witnessed by traditional rulers, other community leaders including some judicial officers.
