IPAC ALLEGES PLANS TO RIG ELECTIONS IN ABIA STATE…

The Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC Abia State, has asked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to publish and make available the list of electoral materials supplied to local government areas in the state in order to make room for accountability and transparency.

The Chairman, IPAC Abia state, the Reverend Augustine Ehiemere made this known while addressing journalists in Aba. He alleged that there was a grand plan to relocate some of the voting points in the pavilions of all the tertiary institutions in the state to classrooms, thereby giving access for hoodlums to carry out multiple voting to favor a particular political party in the state.

The IPAC Chairman called on the Police to prosecute those caught with election result sheets and uncollected Permanent Voters Cards in the state to serve as a lesson to others. The Reverend Ehiemere, however, applauded security and other arrangements that were put in place by INEC and the Police during the distribution of election materials on February 15, 2019 and urged that such be replicated across all the polling units in the state during the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections to forestall any election violence as well as break down of law and order in the areas.
