IMO GOVT. ASSISTS 6 DEPORTEES TO BEGIN NEW LIFE

Imo State Governor Chief Rochas Okorocha has presented some cash to 6 indigenes of the state deported from Gabon.

The Governor who made the presentation at the Government House Owerri explained that the gesture was to help them to start a new life.

Governor Okoroacha who was represented by the Commissioner for Happiness and Purpose fulfillment, Mrs. Ogechi Ololo, further said that the essence of the present administration was to put smiles on the faces of people and ensure that their purpose of existence were fulfilled.

“It might also interest the public to understand that these very Imolites, some of them were detained for 6 months.”

The Governor stressed that the beneficiaries would be monitored to see that they came back to full life.

Some of the deportees who had lived in Gabon for many years said that their businesses had crumbled and life became hellish for them and their families.

“They deported us, it is hardship that brought me to Benin Republic.

“I am a businessman, I had to come back home with my wife and children, I lost everything my house, my business.”

They thanked the Imo State Government for assisting them to return back to their father land through the Nigerian Embassy in Benin Republic.
