IGP REMOVES ENUGU STATE POLICE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, SULEIMAN

The Insepector General of Police, Mr. Abubakar Adamu has removed the Comissioner of Police in-charge of Enugu State Command, Mr. Suleiman Balarabe.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amarizu, who confirmed it in a telephone interview with Radio Nigeria, said Mr. Suleiman had been replacement by Mr. Ahmad Abdurahman.

Also, a statement by the Force Police Relations Offficer, Mr. Frank Mba which corroborated the removal, indicated that Mr. Suleiman had been redeployed to Force Criminal Investigation Division (FCID), Abuja.

Before now, there had been protests and agitations by some individuals and groups for the removal of Mr. Suleiman.

The groups, which included Enugu Youth Coalition for Good Governance and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Enugu, accused the outgone Police Commissioner of incompetence and high handedness, especially with the deteriorating spate of insecurity in Enugu State.

Meanwhile until his deployment to the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Abdulrahman was in-charge of the FCID.

The Statement by the force PPRO, Mr. Frank Mba, showed that Mr. Abdulrahman had been a seasoned police officer.

According to the Force PPRO “Ahmad Abdulrahman holds double Masters Degrees – one in Criminal Justice and another in Conflict, Peace & Strategic Studies, both from the Kaduna State University. A graduate of Political Science & Administration from the University of Sokoto, CP Ahmad also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong.”
