GOV UZODIMMA TASKS YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS ON PATRIOTISM & HARDWORK

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to Imo State have been urged to rekindle the hope for better Nigeria by making themselves agents of positive change.

The State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, gave the charge in a message to the opening of orientation course for the 2023 Batch C Stream II Corps members at Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.

He advised them to be resilient, patriotic and hardworking in keeping with the lofty ideas of the NYSC, noting that the nation was in dire need of youths with the right potential.

Governor Uzodimma, who was represented by a Director in the Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mr. Sixtus Onyeocha, encouraged the corps members to use the three-week orientation course to acquire leadership skills and other programmes aimed at making them self employed.

The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, called on the corps members to see the course as a platform for national cohesion and strive towards building a better Nigeria.

She urged them to acquaint themselves with the laws governing the scheme, pointing out that necessary arrangements had been made to guarantee their welfare in the camp.

1,606 corps members comprising, 812 males and 794 females are undergoing the orientation course.
