Gov Ugwuanyi threatens to sack teachers
Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi yesterday threatened to sack any class room teacher involved in the act of sabotage as government would not condone such individuals planning to frustrate the effort of his administration in educational sector.
The governor stated this in Nsukka at the grand-finale of a quiz competition he co-sponsored, under the platform of Ochudo Foundation, with Hon Chinedu Nwamba, representing Nsukka East Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly.
The competition, which involved 32 secondary schools in Nsukka Local Government Area of the state, ended with Community Secondary School, Agu Umabor emerging the champion, while Community Secondary School Ede-Oballa came second.
More so, computer sets and cash prizes were given to the two schools, as well as the St Cyprians’ Special Science School, which came third in the competition.
The governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Education in the state, Prof Uche Eze noted that his administration was passionate about education, according to him, his government would not allow any teacher to frustrate such efforts.
