President Muhammadu Buhari has approved six billion Naira for Ebonyi State Government to embark on the mining of limestone granules which will be supplied to fertilizer blending plants across the country.
Governor David Umahi made this known during the revalidation of his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his home town, Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of the State.
Chief Umahi revalidated his membership alongside his younger brother Deacon Austin Umahi, who until his defection to APC was the National Vice Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South East Zone.
The Governor commended President Buhari for his visionary leadership in APC,noting that he had also approved four hundred million Naira for empirical evaluation of salt deposit to develop hypochlorite solution for water treatment in the country.
Chief Umahi urged Nigerians to continue to support government’s efforts to stem the wave of insecurity, which he attributed to high level of desperation by unpatriotic politicians.
Governor Umahi also called on Nigerians to shun fake news as such practice, if not adequately checked, was capable of triggering crisis in the country.
He described as worrisome the content of some of the video clips where a certain group of people was portrayed as being chased away from the state.
Governor Umahi said over one million, two hundred APC members were believed to have registered or revalidated their membership across the state.
