ENUGU STATE GOVT. PROVIDES FREE TRANSPORT SERVICE FOR CHRISTMAS RETURNEE INDIGENES

Beneficiaries of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi free transport scheme for Enugu State indigenes living outside the state have commended the leadership style of the Governor and pledged their total support to his administration.

They made their feelings known while interacting with Radio Nigeria on the benefits of the programme.

Three of them, who came from Benue State, said that they did not pay any money, describing the gesture as unprecedented.

Others who came from Lagos and Abuja stated that the cost of transportation from the two cities to Enugu had skyrocketed, as passengers pay about ₦12,000 thanked the Governor for the Christmas gift.

In a remark, the Managing Director Enugu State Transport Company, Mr Bob Itanyi, noted that the idea behind the programme was to show love and accommodate the less privileged in the society.

He encouraged the people to reciprocate the gesture by praying for the present administration in the state.

It could be recalled that Enugu State Governor brought out vehicles to convey its citizen from different parts of the country to celebrate Christians with their loved ones free of charge.
