Enugu State Assembly to look into Alleged State fund Diversion by the former Chairman Board of Internal Revenue

Deputy-Leader-Enugu-HouseThe Enugu state Assembly has set up a seven-man committee to investigate alleged diversion of the state fund by the previous Chairman and members of the State board of Internal Revenue between 2008 to 2016.

This followed a petition to the House by a concerned citizen, The House expressed worry that such allegation is coming when the nation is experiencing economic downturn.

The speaker Cheif Edward Ubosi called on  relevant bodies to co-operate with the Committee in carry out its assignment. They were given one Month to submit the report to the house.

Meanwhile the Deputy Leader Enugu State house of Assemble State Constituency, Mrs. Mary Onyinye Ugwu wants residents of the State to support the House in advancing the cause affecting the welfare of women and children in the state.

Mrs. Ugwu Stated this when she presented her new baby born, Mary before the Assembly. She expressed happiness with the members of the house for their prayers and support during the period of her delivery and urged relevant agencies to promote issue that would enhance the welfare of women and children in the State.

Mrs. Ugwu said she would remain grateful to the House especially the Speaker Chief Edward Ubosi for his leadership quality, the Speaker described Mrs. Ugwu as a reliable colleague whose input had enhanced legislative processes.

The Chairman women organisation, CWO, Enugu Deanery Catholic Diocese of Enugu accompanied Mrs. Ugwu to the presentation with a colourful cultural display.

Other members of the house who spoke with Radio Nigeria expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of their colleague.

The event was attended by some clergies from St. Anthony Catholic Church, Awkuke, friends and well wishers among whom were the Deputy Director News, Radio Nigeria Enugu National Station Chief Stone Echereobia Agomoh.
